Another modified tale from T Kingfisher, this time focused on the Snow Queen with light sapphic love. I found this not super engaging and it didn't hold my interest well, so I read it in little bits over the course of a week. It just didn't grab me and compell me to keep reading like most Kingfisher books do.
I did appreciate the animal familiars and the team of flying otters was delightful. The plot began with a boy being kidnapped and his neighbor, a girl with a deep love for him, journeys to find him. Along the way she realizes how unrealistic they love was, and grows to love another, instead of the boy who had often overlooked her.
