The Juneteenth Story: Celebrating the End of Slavery in the United States by Alliah L. Agostini

**Thank you to NetGalley, author Alliah L. Agostini, and Quarto Publishing Group – becker & mayer! for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.**

The Juneteenth Story: Celebrating the End of Slavery in the United States is a book that is way overdue to be put in the hands of readers. Alliah L. Agostini has created an immensely important book that is informative and, partnered with Sawyer Cloud’s illustrations, beautiful.

The addition of the timeline at the end of the book is wonderful for teaching resources and discussion points. It gives readers a visual of the gaps and the misguided story we are often told about our history.

I am looking forward to recommending this book to readers in the future.
