Surprisingly dark and creepy for a YA novel.
The writing was decent, although the pace dragged a bit towards the middle. The characters weren't painfully immature like they sometimes are in YA fiction.
The ending was unexpected and I really appreciated that.Even though the story ended on a sad note, I got a sense of closure and felt like healing for the characters would be possible with time.
