The Kings of Clonmel by John Flanagan

2.5 stars.
As far as books aimed more towards younger kids is concerned, it's not horrible. I'm getting increasingly sick of the complete lack of diversity. This book has not one, but two rather insensitive scenes regarding fat people, both of which were women, and made up about 5 minutes of the total like 20 minutes that women were shown at all in the whole book.
And more over, I'm really more of a character person, and these books are so clearly plot driven, and that's not even well done for that matter. The characters are dry and repetitive af, and the plot is kind of like a horse of cards, pretending to be a mansion at times.
Again, I know it's for a younger audience, but I have read and loved books for younger people, (the princess diaries, Percy Jackson, vampire kisses) and these do not make the cut whatsoever.
