If I am honest, I had no idea when I picked up this book that it was part of a series. With that said, you really dont need any information about the characters going in. The author does a good job of giving you their background without making it feel like you are missing something.

The story starts off with FBU agent Lacy Sherlock Savich getting in a huge car accident where she is hit by a car, and she strikes a pedestrian who runs off. The incident hospitalizes her. When she wakes up, she is greeted by her husband, FBI agent Dillon Savich, but she has amnesia and can not remember much, especially her husband. While she is recovering and Savich is trying to get to the bottom of the accident Savich receives a call from a colleague, Griffin Hammersmith who has been arrested in this town for telepathically hearing a woman named Carson who was abducted by a local town man who she also telepathically heard kidnapped and killed 2 women.

As I'm typing this, it sounds insane, but it was very fast-paced(especiallyfor a 500+ page book), and besides a few of the extra plot points was a decent story for a FBI thriller, which is not my normal genre. I think if it had stuck to one part of the story and not combined, then it would have been better.
