a four star banger of a debut! I liked to start off by saying I haven't read YA since 2016, but boy am I glad I stumbled upon this author on booktok and put a hold on Libby.
Thoroughly enjoyed this story and it's characters - the way Xan wrote each POV was seamless with everything connected to one another. I also enjoyed the incorporation of the crime podcast element. An extension on the "the devils" characters would have been really good but I'll take what I can get.
Anyway, get this debut novel from your local library or Libby, i'd say it's a perfect book for a Summerween TBR
Pro tip! Listening to a Southern Gothic playlist makes the reading experience 10X better!
