Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt
2.0

I'm really surprised that I lasted all the way through this book. Especially since I've got tons of unread books on my shelves that had to have been better than this one. And what's even more surprising is I'm going to read the next two in the trilogy. I started Teacher Man awhile back but put it down. I guess I just keep reading in hopes that something good will actually happen to young Francis McCourt. Angela's Ashes is just chapter after depressing chapter of McCourts baby brothers dying off from malnutrition while his Dad goes off and drinks up all his wages. It's maddening, and yet I kept reading it. Like I said it must have been the desire to see something, anything good happen to the McCourt family. I guess I would suggest reading this book to anyone who thinks their life is bad. Just goes to show you someone's always got it worse than you.
