Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver

4.0

This is an absolutely beautifully written book, I really don’t even know where to start. First of all the amount of knowledge about nature, wildlife, insects, evolution, etc. is just astonishing. The way the three completely separate stories came together on their own and then began to weave together was thoroughly intriguing, and surprisingly not unsatisfactory. Even though you feel you really only scratch the surface of these characters, somehow that’s OK, it really just leads you to believe that there’s much more to know, and someday they will find out these things about each other, while other things might always remain hidden, and it seems as though that’s OK too. There’s just no one else who writes like Barbara Kingsolver.
