Orange: The Complete Collection, Volume 2 by Ichigo Takano

emotional reflective sad medium-paced

3.0

There was a separate story at the end that didn't have anything to do with Orange, and I did not like it at all, so I'm disregarding that section from the overall score.

Overall, I enjoyed the first omnibus more. There were times that this portion of the story where characters felt more manipulative (because it's everyone joining in now) that didn't always read well for me. Or else that one review on GR got to me. Anyways, like the first omnibus, this one was also filled with everyone in this friend group being concerned with saving their friend, Kakeru. I do like that by the end, Kakeru is informed about how his friends have been trying all this time to care for him. And that in the end, while they had doubts whether or not they should have invited him out that first time, Kakeru's one POV section told us just how lonely he would have been if he hadn't made connections with our group of 5. The ending is hopeful as Kakeru not only sees how much love his friends have to give, but how he's also rekindled the feeling that life is truly worth living.

ps. I don't know why the author would pick the guy who was essentially stalking our girl Chiki...I mean, he knew where her house was.
