While this book had so many great moments I think it just wasn’t entirely for me. Our FMC is a young hard working black woman living in the south who embarks on a a journey to level up after getting dumped by her fat phobic and overall a**hole boyfriend. And I’m the process she starts to fall for her contractor. I often found myself getting pulled out of the story and that knocked this down a peg for me. The constant run-ins with the ex, miscommunication, and Savvy’s own internalized fat phobia plucked at my nerves. I also found the audio to be a bit grating as well. I love this narrator, but I don’t think this book was a good match up for her voice.
