Alphabet Squadron by Alexander Freed

4.0

This reminded me a bit of the X-Wing series in the old EU, but only in that it follows a scrappy squadron of fighter pilots. This is one of the more military sci-fi titles in the new Star Wars canon (along with the Battlefront novels and the new Thrawn books), so readers who enjoy that genre will probably like this one.

Overall, I really enjoyed it, though a lot of new characters are introduced in the beginning and I had trouble keeping track of them all. To be fair, I just had surgery and was on narcotic painkillers when I started, so that very well could have played a role in my difficulty.

The audio book wasn't read by Mark Thompson or January Lavoy, but I still enjoyed the audio version. Another solid entry in the new Star Wars canon!
