I didn't know what to expect from this book going into it beyond what the synopsis said.
It ended up dealing with much darker and important themes than I would have guessed.
This is a YA book and I thought the topics were handled in a way that is accessible and appropriate to teen readers. That being said, it is a very heavy story.
I found Jam and Redemption to be interesting and well written protagonists. They both had depth and made mistakes, which made them feel real.
The writing style is great at evoking emotion and empathy.
I truly loved this book and wanted to know more about the revolution prior to this book so I'm glad there's a prequel to learn more about Bitter's life.
