Midnight Lily

I had originally given this story a 4-star rating, but after sleeping on it, I found that it left me confused and feeling that the epilogue unnecessary, which took away the magic of what had been a beautiful, angsty story. In truth, I feel duped.
Furthermore, the fact that I had to go searching for an explanation of said epilogue (outside of the story) was really off-putting. It wasn't pleasurable to be left confused and with more questions than answers at the end. In my opinion, the epilogue was overkill (and it killed my feelings for the story).
Still, it was a pretty mindfuck (until it wasn't) so I'm giving it a 3-star rating for imaginative, atmospheric, and emotional writing, even though the end was an epic fail for me.
