My feelings for this book are very complicated.

In some ways I want to rate it lower because, despite the smut, the book seemed very childish. Every adventure Nell took to help others seemed very black and white, every solution being akin to “just let your love and kindness win!” Which got incredibly repetitive and was almost too optimistic with the contrasting tones when she was outside of the challenges. It felt very middle grade/ya with smut thrown in to make it adult.

However despite all my ministrations there is something about this book that I couldn’t put down. I sped through it, engaged with the romance, and I am excited at the prospect of the continuation of the story.

In conclusion, this was a very good romance, however the actual plot seemed to be a little to young for my liking .
