Well. This book was a gothic creepfest. My biggest gripe is the repeated use of the g slur as well as the use of the terrible stereotype of the Romani people. I cannot help but to think that the author attempted to keep the book laced in the time it is set, but it still doesn’t sit right with me. Despite that, everything else was great. Growing creepiness and an unreliable narrator, as well as all the deception within the book. Fantastic.
