4.5. I loved this book, especially the in-depth well-researched historical aspects. I also loved the characters and the writing style. Every character was complex and nuanced. The only reason I didn't give this book five stars was the ending with Grace. I am still confused by her motivation and reasoning. It was confusing and unexplained. I will definitely check out the sequel when I get a chance.
