Kisses from Katie
by Katie Davis
I only decided to read this book because it was a story based in Uganda, and I only finished it for the same reason. It was terribly written, overly repetitive and condescending. I knew this writing would be overly preachy in her quest to fulfill her gods will, so it wouldn't be fair to judge her on that. However, she appears to be incredible needy, almost like a hoarder, to have an immense amount of people depend on her. She inserted herself into a community where people struggle to meet their most basic needs and then as she provides them, she preaches her Christianity to this most vulnerable audience.... Exactly what I despise of ministry work. There is no doubt that she is a good person who has provided and helped countless people...I applaud her for that. But I also cringed every time she used the word 'filthy' to describe a child. One star is the lowest I could give which is being generous.
