Widows by Lynda La Plante

3.0

I'm pretty certain this is the first Lynda la Plante book I've read, though I've certainly heard of the author before. Based on this, I might pick up books by this author again, especially if there's a sequel to this.

Typically I'm not a fan of books that sequel-bate (there are some exceptions of course) but this does feel really self contained so it doesn't *need* a sequel, but I'd be happy enough if there was one.

Plot wise I did find this to be a tad convuluted with a few too many characters so at times I struggled to keep things straight. There is a plot twist or two here, but they work well and aren't just thrown in at the end.

Characters, I can see them being realistic but none are truly likable which is something I like in my books. Still I read this in a matter of hours so it entertained me and served its purpose.
