⋆⋆⅞ — mid writing, nothingburger plot, corny dialogue, cornier romance, and what the hell is wrong with warner?? i don't mean the evilry and trying to manipulate juliette. just who talks like that??? his disney creep vocabulary is so funny omg especially when he's supposed to be wealthy and educated. even kenji sounds normal compared to him.

i was going to say something about the worldbuilding (incoherent), but then i remembered juliette is sixteen and spent years being abused and in jail, so she probably doesn't know much about the government. not sure if it was on purpose, considering the quality of everything else, but great characterization there tbh.

it's also blatantly generic, but it was also published in 2011, so i'm going to say it invented the other y/n dystopias instead of the other way around.

not to say it wasn't fun. it was very fun!
