I had quite a few ups and downs with this book, not gonna lie. I wasn't super drawn in until I was a bit into the book and then when we were about to hit the third act break up I pushed off finishing it because of how I thought it would go. Much to my delight, it didn't go the way I thought it would and it made my enjoyment of the book go up.

I also loved how naturally diverse this book was. There were characters of various ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and even disabled rep! It was fantastic to see how effortlessly Baker was able to weave all these characters into the story and still make them feel like real people who are more than the diversity they represent. As someone who lives in Chicago, it's really like that here so it was awesome to see the real diversity reflected in the book.

Overall, this was a super fun, low key fantasy contemporary romance. It reminded me of a more diverse and better written Hallmark Christmas Movie! Considering I still like the badly written hallmark movies, this was excellent! I can't wait to see what else Camille Baker puts out!
