Overtime by Toni Aleo

I didn’t think I’d like Kacey, but I really did. I think I found myself relating to her a lot more than I thought I would. I’m not some crazy strong athlete like she is. However, I am rough around the edges and tell it like it is. I love how out spoken she is. I don’t condone violence, but the fact that she’s willing to fight for her love, physically and emotionally is amazing.

I think Jordie’s story might be one of my favorites because of his growth as a person. I didn’t like him in Wanting to Forget. But I think that was the point of that novella. We had to see how awful he was. He was at his lowest and he needed to get his life together.

I think Toni Aleo focused addiction nicely. This is still a romance book, so she didn’t delve too much into it. However, I’m glad she emphasized that Jordie needed to be clean for him first. If someone doesn’t want to make the right decisions for themselves than it’ll only be more of challenge for them to do it with another.
