I Know A Secret by Tess Gerritsen

5.0

I quickly picked up on the little horror movie nods and winks sprinkled throughout the book but by the end I questioned if I was imagining it.

Tess writes at the end that her mom was also a horror fan and that Tess actually wrote a horror film called “island zero”. It’s streaming on prime now and I’m definitely going to watch it soon.

As for the book? I was almost instantly hooked. While I figured a few things out there was still a few surprises to be had.

The way things are written it’s as if you’re figuring it out right before the character does, there’s that AHA moment that I just love. I find a lot of thriller/mystery writers try to surprise with absurd twists instead of letting the reader be along for a journey.
