“He learned something about himself in that moment. If this woman tacked the word ‘please’ onto any request, he would find a way to fulfill it. Build me a palace, please. How many floors, baby?”

this book had me full on grinning and blushing and laughing and swooning the whole entire time. the amount of times i had to pause (as in physically put the book down or stop the audiobook) just so that i could collect myself is crazy. tessa bailey is on another level let me tell you. i typically read 🌶 scenes with a straight face but phew not this time.

i’m a sucker for the grumpy x sunshine trope and small towns feeling like a big family so i ate this book up. piper and brendan were so so cute but hannah and fox? yeah i can feel the chemistry starting to simmer. also as much as i love the ships (ha pun very much intended), the relationship between piper and hannah is my favorite. i cannot wait to read the sequel! mostly to see how hannah and fox grow/come together but also because i can’t wait to revisit brendan and piper and the rest of westport.

if you like grumpy/sunshine tropes, small town vibes, schitt’s creek, 🌶 (lots and lots of it), and wonderfully complex characters please go read this. there are some flaws, namely the fact that there are some pacing issues, but my love for the characters outshines all the bad. just go read this book already!!
