HORRIBLE BOOK!!!!!! Unless you are a sheltered, rich British person from the 50s you will NOT find this book “scary” or “interesting” or anything of the like. I can’t believe English teachers require this for reading when it’s such boring garbage. I never read fiction books and my god this made me NEVER want to read one again. I thought this would be a book of not only physical warfare, but more importantly, psychological warfare. NOPE. Nothing happens. Kids get stuck on an island, they’re obsessed with a conch shell like it’s that episode of SpongeBob, they fear a beast, the kids that were obviously always gonna die first die, and then they basically immediately get rescued. THATS IT. It’s so boring and the author is a TERRIBLE writer. Goes ON AND ON about keeping a fire going or explaining some boring nonaction. Wasted my time reading this. Fiction for me from now on….
