Nailbiter Volume 7: Nailbiter Returns
by Joshua Williamson
“The Crossbones Killer. One time when I was a kid he built this amazing pop-up sculpture over in the park. At Mt. Hood, y’know? It was days before anyone realized it was made of real, human bones.
I never liked clowns. Ever. But I always thought the Clown Car Killer was fun... In a f*cked up sort of way.
And the Blonde should be turned into a saint. Oh man, or the Book Burner? He destroyed my dad's high school library when he was a kid. It's how he met my mom."
Buckaroo, in the state of Oregon, has a claim to fame that no town would ever want. It has been the birthplace of no less than 16 serial killers.
After the destruction of the town and the death of the Nailbiter and the Master, Crane, Alice and Finch have moved on with their lives and are trying to move past the awful events that they witnessed.
However, when Crane is attacked in the shower by none other than the Nailbiter, it seems that leaving Buckaroo doesn't mean leaving the past behind.
The pacing is a little off in this 'reboot' of the series. It feels as if they know they have a limited run to finish off the plot. 4 1/2 stars.
