A beautifully poetic book about love, identity and growing up. Despite this book being quite difficult to read for me, when I stopped focusing so hard on understanding the plot and once I got used to it, maybe 1/8 of the book in, it became and enjoyable experience. I loved the metaphor of the waves used to describe where in their life the characters were in. It had an intellectual air and inner contemplation - it seemed dense but also light at the same time, a sort of pondering of the ego. Some passages really took me to places I hadn't before as well as consider what it means to exist. I would recommend this to people who are looking for a read that challenges them and illicit philosophical thinking.
