It's actually hard to review these given what an outsized portion of my life this series occupied in the early 90's. There are so many players, so many moving parts and also so many permutations explored in Amber Diceless Roleplaying that it's a little jarring to reread the text and try to see just what's there rather than our endless extrapolation of same. What's there is good enough to be amazing, and really impressive in how we are watching this as a character piece and a royal court conspiracy and a war across all reality. After the prior two books covered years in their execution we are approaching the endgame of decades of conspiracy and our wild card protagonist no longer has the luxury of time to learn everything that happened in his absence. This volume throws a lot at you in terms of more mysteries and chunks of data with the last of the worldbuilding for the series.
