3.25 stars. I absolutely adored The Travelling Cat Chronicles, but the cat's perspective, which made that novel so charming, was lacking in this book. Aside from the first story, which I adored, most of these stories were simply "human relationships evolve, featuring a cat." Perhaps short stories weren't the best avenue for exploring these ideas, because some of them (the island vacation with the fantastical element) had great potential!
