Arm of the Sphinx by Josiah Bancroft

2.0

It took me forever to get through this one. It just didn't at all compare to book 1. This one sort of hobbled along in fits and starts. Few new characters or new settings, and most of the internal development of the characters is devoted to
SpoilerTom and Edith falling for each other
, a situation I do not at all enjoy. Voleta, Iren, and Adam were fine as supporting characters in the first book but didn't really do much for me as POV characters.

I already bought the entire series based on my enjoyment of the first book, so I'll probably give the next one a shot at some point, despite my disappointment in the direction of the plot and characters.
