The Legacy
by Elle Kennedy
"Go for a walk. Explore a new neighbourhood, try a new restaurant. Just keep making memories and sharing experiences. Good or bad, they bring you closer together."
As a book which is supposed to be fan service, this is terrible. Not only is it boring, it's downright laborious to get through at times because of the obscene amount of conflict. In a book which has only been written so readers get to spend a little bit more time with these characters they love so much, why on earth do we have to spend the whole time enduring argument after argument after argument? Like, oh my god. Please. This isn't even to mention how most of the time the person who ends up apologising in the argument isn't even the person who's in the wrong (looking at you, Dean and Allie).
Also, the characters feel out of character to me for some reason. Not overtly, but something's definitely off with them. These are not the people I spent so much time with in the main series. I don't know these bitches.
Suffice it to say, this is a very disappointing end to the Off-Campus series. It's unnecessary and so, so boring. Instead of going out with a bang, Elle Kennedy let this series go out with a whimper, which really is such a shame.
