The final book in this series and it will not give you a single break until the end.

This book and the second book act as one book to some degree. All the build-up to the action in this book has taken place in the second book which means that this book is action-packed. It will have you on the edge of your seat for the first 100 pages and then continue to keep you on the edge of your seat for the remaining 500. When I say this book doesn't give you a break, I mean it. I didn't want to put it down because there was always something happening that I couldn't step away from.

This book sees the characters develop more than they have before, it sees the culmination of the build-up in relationships, and it sees their arcs coming to completion. It is a very satisfying conclusion to an amazing story! You will laugh, cry, clutch at your heart, and find yourself going on this emotional and daunting journey with the characters. It is by far the best book in the trilogy!

Although I didn't like the direction taken on some characters (
Lila being an Antari
) I knew it was coming and I understood why the choice was made.
Honestly, I just wish that not everyone had to be super special and that sometimes what made someone special was just who they are, not any magic abilities - probably why I like Rhy so much. But it also makes sense why Kell was first drawn to her, so there's something to it. I'm back and forth on it. I will say I definitely don't like that she's the only one left with full access to her Antari powers, it feels like such a core thing for Kell and I wish that he didn't have to be diminished to then be free. But I also get it. So I'm back and forth on whether those are good story choices I just didn't love, or if they were bad story choices too. I don't know.

Anyways - loved this book. I'm sure I will be rereading it and the whole series at some point.

(Also selfishly, I am so glad to see that there is a second series in this universe because I did not want to say goodbye to these characters yet!)
