Kiss of the Basilisk by Lindsay Straube

medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Diverse cast of characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

Listen. I like a lot of toxic, dark romances. But with those, you can usually get why the characters feel the way they feel. These characters were all over the place.

Also I stg if they say each others names in the dialogue one more time 😂😩

But hey, I finished it. So. There’s that.
Ok spoilers

- The best part of this book was the non-cannon fan fic at the end.
- Leo is obviously the better choice. Honestly glad he didn’t get stuck with Tem at the end.
- Tem cannot make up her mind. Her motivations and emotions were all over the place. Caspen is abusive af and not in a redeems himself eventually way.
- broken pelvis? Nbd just keep fucking. I literally cannot.
- Mostly annoyed that they had a perfect opportunity for a why choose and wasted it. Whatever, Leo deserved better.
- The most unhinged thing about this book is that it’s the first time I have ever EVER thought to myself “man, I wish there was less sex”
