Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe

2.0

So. I am not sure if it is just the edition of this book that I read (it was not this edition; mine is old and therefore not on Goodreads), or if it was the book in general, but I was disappointed. The writing style was simply not good, Robinson had a tendency to be unreasonable, and, when trying to map out the travels of Robinson, we found that the geography was not as well researched as I would have hoped. The characters were not extremely interesting, and I think that Defoe should have tried harder to make them seem more realistic. Which is not to say the book had no virtues, but I think one of the better parts about it is that it inspired [b:The Swiss Family Robinson|62111|The Swiss Family Robinson |Johann David Wyss|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1385171459s/62111.jpg|2441994], which is a much better use of your time. In my humble opinion.
