Endurance: A Year in Space, a Lifetime of Discovery by Scott Kelly

4.0

Page after page of interesting details fill this book. From Scott's rocky start in school to the life of a test pilot (the stories are true) to daily life in space, Endurance covers it all. Stories of learning to land on an aircraft carrier show there is no secret, just lots of training and practice. That extends to life on the ISS. Oh, and alllll of the time spent repairing things is simply crazy. Takeaways include: time spent in preparation is not wasted, communication with loved ones is vital and can be challenging, and being part of a larger team committed to success is essential. I enjoyed hearing his voice reading the book, but speeding it up to 1.25% helped.
