I reached for this book because of its promising premise of a female comedy show writer developing a relationship with a hotshot celebrity singer. It seemed quirky and as if it was setting itself up to be the next hit romcom movie. However, it took me quite a while to get through the book. It might have been the dry and borderline bland humor or the two stubborn leads themselves, but I couldn’t find the characters as loveable as I thought I would. Then again, maybe the type of humor in the book just didn’t line up with mine. Whatever it was, I felt like I was forcing myself to get through the end.
