This book was good --- I liked it a lot more than I thought I would considering it's a fantasy romance (heavy romance isn't typically my thing).
I loved the characters and the story and the world so much.  Loved the parallels with the Beauty and the Beast story, and also the small nods to the Hades and Persephone story.  I loved learning about the fae, and am excited to check out more books about them.
My only complaints about this novel are in some of the questionable content.  This book is known for its heavy romance, and we see the beginnings of it here.  As I mentioned before, lots of spice in books is really not my thing.  Unfortunately, I've heard the series only gets worse in that respect from here.  I plan to at least give book two a try (the story itself in book one was really good), but may very well DNF it if it gets too heavy into the romance stuff (or, at the very least, I will be skimming over any of the spice).
