Sweet Dandelion by Micalea Smeltzer

Oh, my heart! Dani has something completely traumatizing and emotional, forcing her to go and live with her brother. It also makes her have to start seeing a counselor for her anxiety and depression every day at school. However, Dani didn't have a chance when her counselor was a smoke show and a 29-year-old Scottish man. Lachlan, Mr. Taylor, knew how to listen to Dani and knew that she needed a friend more than someone to tell her how to think and what to feel. He allowed her to figure out her own feeling in her own time. Lachlan and Dani started having feelings for each other and didn't know how to handle them. Still, the more time they spent together, after figuring out they live in the same building and Lachlan encouraging Dani to read more, they really started to click and embrace those feelings. They have to navigate their feelings because of their relationship with the student teacher and have Lachlan feel that he may be taking advantage of a weak, scared girl who needs someone strong to lean on. He leaves her after they spent some time together, allowing her to grow as her own person with her best friend, Ansel. Instead of going to college, Ansel and Dani decided to travel around Europe, allowing her to find herself. Some crazy stuff happens and falls into place to meet up about a year later in a spot they met long before they even knew each other. This isn't that steamy, but the love scenes are well written and really embrace the love of these two. I can see why this is such a fan favorite. It keeps you indulged and makes you fall in love with the characters.
