Whole is Book 5 in A.M. Arthur’s Breaking Free series and cannot be read as a standalone! This is a fantastic series and world that the author has created, and I highly recommend reading the entire series!

Jaysan is a character we met previously in the series, and he’s been a tough character to get to know. He was one of the omegins saved and has struggled the most with figuring out his life. Jaysan has no interest in finding an alpha and is set to prove that he can do what he wants with his body, no matter how safe or unsafe his behavior is. But, Jaysan recognizes how his actions are affecting others and he soon gets more than he bargained for he meets Morris. Morris lives a quiet, anti-alpha life. He was raised in an abusive home, to put it mildly. When his brother and brother-in-law are killed, Morris and his infant nephew are all the family left and Morris is devastated by his loss. The extended self-made family of Kell and Ronin soon step in to provide assistance to Morris and baby Aeron. Jayan and Morris are bond mates and neither man is willing to act on that, but both men want to put Aeron first. Aeron who ends up being the baby that Jaysan gave birth to. Both men have a lot of history to work through.

I loved the story and how Jaysan and Morris were subtly changing. How they were becoming a family, though don’t call them that! I loved when they were both able to be open to each other which felt very organic. This was not an easy relationship that all problems just disappeared overnight. This was reading about a couple actually sitting down, talking and working through their hang-ups. But, you know when things are going well and you see this paragraph in an AM Arthur book: “For the first time in a long time, Jaysan hoped. And hope, he decided, was a wonderful thing, indeed.” (Yes, I took a screenshot!) I knew that there was going to be more things to come for Jaysen and Morris to get through. And there is more and of course, they work through them.

I truly love this series. I love the world that the author has created and even the smallest things bringing this world together. This M-Preg story has no females. It’s Alpha, Omegin and Beta, all males. But, all of them in the series when speaking about a “higher power” use the term Goddess. I loved seeing so many of the characters from the previous books and I love the self-made family and how it continues to extend. If you have not read this series, or if you’re looking to try an M-Preg book, this series should be the one you start with. You’ll see that the author has built an entire world. This is not a sweet, sappy love story. There’s plenty of love story and the previous couples provide the sap, but these men have a lot of trauma and a lot of work in trying to change their world to improve it for everyone. Though this book has tough topics and angst, I wasn’t crying like I had in previous books in the series, so that’s a definite win for me! Grab this series now!
