Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas

5.0

apparently, I'm into every lord st-vincent.

➸ they get caught in a compromising situation. (it was totaly innocent, she was caught in a chair). he wants to do the right thing and marry her. she doesn't want that.

I LOVE THIS BOOK. Pandora just wants to work on her boardgames. She doesn't want marriage, she doesn't want her future husband to own her work. I love that we get a heroine who's very aware that marriage, at that time, makes her a man's property. I love that her family just wants her to be happy and would never force her to marry someone against her will.

Gabriel, having grown up with two parents very much in love, is a rake, but he'll do the right thing and offer marriage to a girl to save her from being ruined. he's one of the most eligible bachelor, but she doesn't want him. it's delightful to see him deal with his bruised ego and to see him fall for the last girl he tought he would love.

❝ It seemed that no matter what her faults were, he was willing to accept her for who she was, and who she was not. ❞

and all the evie/sebastian cameos really brought this book to a whole new level. best parents.
