"Would you say the cast of characters is diverse" well it's a book about thousands of replicas of the same exact guy so I'd say no.
I thought this was a really smart, intellectually engaging book/plot with a really interesting concept. I really liked how he had to explore how to outsmart the multiverse and it was really interesting to think about how large the multiverse truly is and how rapidly it can expand. It does hurt my head when I try to place that in perspectice of how the genesis of the plot/concept is based on one single decision made halfway through Jason's life and what happened to all the Jasons from before that decision, and what the difference is between decisions that make new universes and decisions that don't. I loved how there was a couple of brief Daniela interludes to keep us up to date on the main world, andall of the Jasons admitting defeat at the end, especially Jason 2, because of the same thing (the only common weakness between all of the Jasons) even when in different settings was so classic. The character-driven part of the book was equally thrilling to me as the actual plot. Being from Chicago made it easier for me to imagine the settings in some ways, which was a nice biased bonus (Kankakee River State Park mention!) I will also be taking away from this book how guns are disgustingly easy to come by.
