Another book that booktok just LOVES that i thought was mediocre.
The FMC is around 21 but acts 16. The mmc and fmc apparently like each other but it feels fake because we aren't shown any meaningful conversations and they are barely around each other. Plus he's like 10 yrs older than her and plainly tells her he manipulates people to get what he wants but we are suppose to believe he can be trusted....
It gives off Divergent energy with the factions and the :badass" fmc that says whatever she wants to anyone yet she's a scared outcast...it didn't make sense. I didn't think the writing did a good job of making us feel anything for any of the characters.
The last 20 pages was the best which makes me mad because now I'm going to have to read the second book and hope that it is better.
