This is my second Helen Garner read, and again, I'm struggling to figure out how to rate it.

I found that I had to be super patient whilst reading Joe Cinque's Consolation only because the way Garner writes reflects how she thinks and processes. In this case, it was trudging through a complex mess, tangled up with so many questions, characters and events that occurred. I found the entire situation fascinating in an eerie and almost repulsive way. Garner is an amazing writer though, and I like that she puts her own voice into the case in a really relatable way.
