Tenth of December: Stories
by George Saunders
challenging
dark
funny
sad
fast-paced
Whoa. Saunders is so kooky and these stories are intense. Violent and funny, what a combo. HIs ability to write internal dialogue is unmatched. You don't feel for the characters, you are IN the characters. Many sad situations and violence make for a challenging read at times, but other moments of hope, tenderness, and such satire make it worthwhile. Would recommend for fans of short stories, dystopian themes, male writers and characters.
