If you read and loved Pushing The Limits, you'll absolutely love this book. But beware: it really is an emotional roller coaster ride. One that I wouldn't mind taking again! This was amazing, breathtaking, heartbreaking and romantic book.
I wasn't sure whether or not I would like Beth's story. I didn't exactly like her in PtL, so I didn't expect to like her story. But I did. A lot. And I'm glad that she didn't end up with Isaiah. They didn't seem right for each other and when I read a quote from Katie herself in Ashley's review, I understood why I felt that way. Ryan and Beth challenged each other. They made each other to open up and grow emotionally. That is why they're perfect for each other! Oh I liked Ryan too. He has is issues, so did Beth, but they overcame them together and I loved watching them grow as persons and as a couple.
For some reason there was a lot of baseball in this book. But I didn't mind, I enjoyed it. Oh and we get glimpses from Noah and Echo too! I really liked 'seeing' them again. Oh and I really didn't like Beth's mom. Pfft, she shouldn't even have the right to call herself a mother. And I don't like Scott that much either. Just sayin'. Oh and after a while I got annoyed by Beth's insecurity. I get it. She had a hard life and I know how it feels to be so insecure, but near the end it was frustrating. Especially because I knew Ryan really cared about her (because of the double POV) and she constantly shrugged it off. I mean... come on Beth. He cares about you, open your eyes!
In the end, I loved this book, but PtL still remains my favorite. I just don't know what else I can say about this book. I kind of filled my mind up with all these emotions (once again, sigh). Love, heartbreak, messed up families, friendship, hope and dreams. That's what this story is about. Nobody said that getting your happy end was easy.
