Stranger Than Fanfiction
by Chris Colfer
I have been a big fan of Chris Colfer's writing for a while now. I own all of the books he has written and his first YA book Struck by Lightening is one of my favorite books. I was so excited when I first heard about this book. When I first started the book I was concerned that my wait had been in vain. The books started out kind of bland and I wasn't sure where exactly the book was meant to go. The farther along the book went the more I felt for each character. Colfer has one very strong skill as an author and that is writing very real characters. Colfer's character's never disappoint me. He always manages to write characters that are heart breakingly human and this book was no exception. While I did find the plot of the book to be rather predictable and the "twist ending" to be sort of bland I did love his characters and I was sad so say good bye to them when the book was over. This books plot really only earned a 3 stars but the characters and real dialog that came with them is what earned it the extra star. All in all I liked the book.
