I originally attempted to read this book back when I was an 18 year old - and failed miserably. I picked it up to try again 5 years later and was surprised by how easy it was to read and understand - clearly, I was not as mature as I thought.
As someone now practicing in psychology, this book is very factually accurate and covers much of what you would learn about on CBT courses and during work with an IAPT service. Highly recommend for any aspiring psychology practitioners and for anyone looking to gain some understanding of their emotion and thought difficulties. The book is filled with helpful activities to put what he talks about into practice, these are written with clear instructions and you can see how helpful they will be to practice. Even as someone for who a lot of the content was not new knowledge, it offered it in an alternative way that it stayed engaging and informative, acting to build my understanding further than I thought possible.
