Okay, here's the thing. I've tried to read this book like four times but circumstances have always had me putting it back down. Plus, it wasn't grabbing me quite enough. So, I tried the audiobook this time and I finally got through it. There were several parts that I really loved. Anything with our main couple was so sweet and wonderful, but they weren't together enough for me.
There was a lot in the middle of this book about planning a party and family relationships and other things I wasn't as attached to. I didn't mind their inclusion to a point, but it felt like they took over the story completely for a long while.
So for me, it had a boring middle, until suddenly everything was happening, and then there was a dramatic life or death situation. After so much dragging I wasn't expecting things to get so exciting so quickly.
The ending was good, which did make me like the book better overall, but it was a bit of a slog in the middle there. I do recommend it and it's worth the payoff, as long as you're okay with the romance not being the focus for a good portion of the book.
