The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells
3.0

I listened to the Librivox recording, which was well read. I knew the gist, but hadn't read this book in my school days. H.G. Wells takes the "glass half empty" route in this tale of scientific experimentation in the name of self-interest. While the tale has much of the fantastic, Wells keeps the invisible feet of his disagreeable subject firmly planted in the mud. Wells makes a plausible case for the invisible man and explores the darker side of human nature that looks to bend the world to its advantage at the expense of others.
