You and Me on Vacation by Emily Henry

5.0

Well dang it, Emily Henry does it again! Not quite a romance, but an actual beautiful love story. I would say that, much like Beach Read, it's more lit fic with a romance plot than actual romance. This is the ultimate summer read. While I am stuck here working on my PhD and squinting at Excel spreadsheets...Poppy and Alex took me around the world and won my heart!

Bullet review:
- Dual timeline
- Friends-to-lovers
- Self-actualization
- Finding oneself
- Great scenery
- Emotional moments

At first, I thought "urgh Poppy and I could never be friends, she is just too chaotic and extroverted" but also realized I am basically Alex. So I figured they wouldn't work. But I grew to understand where they came from and it just fit!
Also, some moments were tough to read for me, giving me big flashbacks to a best friend I was in love with...but unrequited (it's more complicated but anyway it would make a terrible book!).
But in short: I ADORED this!
