Maya is a post-grad with a bright future but who is unlucky in love. Eli is a successful biotech businessman who is not only her brother's business partner but also 15 years her senior. Following a disastrous breakup when she is studying in Scotland, Maya calls her brother but instead gets accidentally put through to Conor, who casually swoops in to keep her company by hopping on a jet from Ireland. But after becoming great friends (and of course having one hot encounter), they have drifted apart. Conor is painfully aware that he is too old for her but Maya is having none of it. They come back together for Rue and Eli's Sicilian wedding (the romance in Not in Love), and nothing is going to plan. But while they're trying to hold the wedding together for the sake of the couple they both love, Maya realises that Conor might be hiding his feelings from her after all.
It's a spicy, forced proximity romance with loveable characters and a gorgeous destination. I didn't love just how many times Conor mentioned the age gap, but it's an enjoyable read and perfect to take on holiday with you.
